Jess Vestal and Harry Jowsey simply weren't seeing eye to eye.
The couple—who went their separate ways on Perfect Match season two after Harry created a scandal with fellow contestant Melinda Berry—tried to give it another go when the cameras weren't rolling. In fact, they were even seen enjoying a beach day in Mexico together last year. But although he's been hinting on social media that she's the one, the relationship ultimately didn't work out.
"My life's a little bit crazy. Also, I understand I'm not the easiest person to date," Harry exclusively told E! News' Francesca Amiker. "Maybe I jumped into Perfect Match a little too soon, and I think she probably didn't get the best version of me."
The Too Hot to Handle alum also chalked up their split to distance, noting that Jess lives in Charlotte, N.C., with daughter Autumn while he lives in Los Angeles.
So, now that he's single, where does he stand with his ex?
"We're in a great spot," Harry shared. "Jess is such an incredibly mature woman and she has her life sorted... She was the only one that got to see me for me, and it was just really eye-opening and humbling to have someone not be swayed by other people's opinions."
As for Jess, she's still processing the breakup and is "not really sure" why it ended.
"I haven't really bothered myself with trying to figure that out," the Love Is Blind star told E!. "I just know that's all on him, and it doesn't have to do with me."
But she does have an inkling on what went wrong.
"I think probably lack of communication, lack of transparency," she continued. "Maybe him not having realistic expectations. Like, him setting the expectations one way and wanting them to be that way, but not being able to deliver on them. The execution just wasn't there. It was a ‘I knew better' kind of thing, so I don't blame him."
And while their romance didn't progress far enough for him to ever meet Autumn, Jess still acknowledged some of Harry's positive qualities.
"Harry was really good until he wasn't," she explained. "He is debatably one of the most attentive partners I've ever had. Harry has all the makings of a good boyfriend."
Following their on-and-off relationship, Jess is moving onward and upward.
"We're not enemies," she told E!. "I wouldn't say friends but I have no qualms with anyone. I'm in the best place in life I've ever been in."
Perfect Match season two is now streaming on Netflix.
