There's nothing like this—Miss Americana and the Chiefs tight end!
After Taylor Swift was photographed cheering on Kansas City football player Travis Kelce during the team's Sept. 24 NFL game against the Chicago Bears, another member of Travis' A-team couldn't help but feel the stakes were higher than a usual regular season match-up.
"I heard she was in the house," quarterback Patrick Mahomes told FOX Sports after the win. "I felt a little bit of pressure, and so I knew I had to get it to Trav."
He added, "I think he wanted to get in the end zone just as much as all the Swifties wanted him to."
Mahomes—who shares kids Sterling, 2, and Bronze, 9 months, with wife Brittany Mahomes—later shared exactly when his teammate told him Swift would be in attendance.
"He told me at the last minute," he said at a press conference. "There's some things with Trav where he just says it; you don't know if it's true or not. He says it so calmly."
Mahomes continued, "Friday, it was just like, ‘Yeah, I think she's coming to the game.' … And then moved about his business. You're kind of like, ‘I guess that just happens.'"
And while a source told E! News that Kelce and Swift had hung out once in New York before the game in Kansas City, Mahomes confessed he hadn't met the Grammy winner prior to the showdown.
"She's a tremendous singer, tremendous at everything she does," he shared. "I haven't got to meet her, but I mean I guess just if she ends up being with Travis, then I'll probably get to meet her at some point. She seems like a good person so hopefully I get to meet her one day."
The insider told E! News Sept. 21 that Swift and Kelce had been "texting and talking here and there," but noted, "It's been very low-key as he's been in season."
But even the team's coach Andy Reid seems to be rooting for their possible love story, as he joked at the press conference, "I set them up."

On Sept. 24, 2023, Taylor made a surprise appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game, sitting in a luxury suite with Donna Kelce, mother of tight end Travis Kelce, with whom the singer had sparked romance rumors weeks prior.
