Keke Palmer remains the true MVP.
ICYMI, Keke's boyfriend Darius Jackson—who is dad to their 4-month-old son Leo—caused a stir online after he publicly commented on the attire she wore while at an Usher concert in Las Vegas. That same day, the True Jackson, VP alum shared her own message for new moms amid the social media discourse.
"Do you, new moms," she recently told The Cut. "Do you. Girl, if there's one person on this earth that loves you for sure, it's that baby. Be happy, because there's no love like it. Somebody loving you like that, hell, who cares?"
The Key TV creator, 29, also reflected on her new chapter in life after welcoming her baby boy in February.
"After having my baby, I've just gotten so much more powerful," she explained. "I'm just so strengthened in a crazy way. Strutting my stuff, enjoying. I'll be honest, I think before I even had the baby, I was really actually quite self-conscious. In a way that you would expect, considering the kind of work that I do as a public figure."
Noting that "there's a lot of physical attention" around her physique, Keke shared that she's simply "leaning into her new body."
"I'm just continuing to spread my wings as a young woman," she continued. "My headspace is just to continue to inspire and encourage myself and anybody else who wants to go down that road with me. Because we're growing and we are changing. It's all about loving who I am and loving what I experienced and what I've gone through that's gotten me here. A lot of gratitude for me."
The Emmy nominee's recent interview comes just days after online users defended her in the wake of her boyfriend's online commentary. In response to a video shared online of Keke dancing along with Usher while wearing a full-length sheer dress, he tweeted July 5, "It's the outfit tho.. you a mom."
He later doubled down on his viewpoint in a follow-up tweet, writing, "We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn't want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is."
Darius added, "This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case."
And though the Nope actress hasn't responded to the critique directly, she did share more sultry snaps of herself from her night out just hours later. Not to mention, Keke also recently shared a social media post dedicated to her son, noting that she was now selling "I'M A MOTHA" merch.
"One thing is certain and one thing is true, IM A MOTHA, through and through!" she captioned a July 7 Instagram video of herself singing to her son. "To all my moms out there, how did your baby change you?? Mine empowered me! On such another level, my perspective changed because when my baby is good I'm GREAT! Look at that face! Gratitude galore."
